The Critical Period Hypothesis

The critical period hypothesis is a lingustic theory that explains how children can acquire their first language acquisition in an innative way and in a specific period of time. This means that it goes developed according to human ages, as the cognitive process.

We found it really interesting that language acquisition could be easier for humans during their first years of life. This information is important for us because it helps us to understand better the process and development of first language acquisition, how it works different both childhood and adulthood.

This is relevant for us as future teachers becuase teachers must plan their lesson identifying  the context of the age of the students they are going to teach. It could be for children in kindergarten or primary school. Also, we can teach adults at universities or private institutions. For each period of age needs are different, so we need to improve effective language teaching methods for each one of them.
