Linguistic determinism
This posture says that our language determines 100% who we are, making us unavailable to understand other languages.
Linguistic relativism
It tells us that language influences at certain points in our thoughts, but we are still allowed to be open minded and see the differences among different languages. A real life example is acquiring an L2 as we are doing in our degree of Learning English Teaching.
